The Network for Development & Growth of Indigenous Scholars (NDGNS UW)

The Network for Development & Growth of Indigenous Scholars (NDGNS UW) program includes:

  • The NDGNS Community, a living experience designed to build community and relationships. The community will offer academic support to help students thrive, and a variety of academic, community, and cultural events throughout the year offered in collaboration with the NDGNS UW program in ACTS.
    • Applications for incoming students for the upcoming academic year are due in late April or early May. Newly admitted students will receive an email in Spring with information on Housing contracts, and can then choose to apply to the NDGNS Community or any other Learning or Theme Communities.
    • Current students living in University Housing should watch for application deadlines to be announced in the Fall
    • University Housing is the primary campus department for the NDGNS Community: housing.wisc.edu
    • ACTS partners with University Housing to offer programming and resources to students who live in the NDGNS Community. Students must first have a contract with University Housing to be eligible to apply to the NDGNS Community.

  • The NDGNS UW fellowship program, designed to build community and relationships. The program will offer academic support to help students thrive and a variety of academic, community, and cultural events throughout the year, through Academic Coaching to Thrive & Succeed and our many campus partnerships.
    • Applications open in Summer.
    • Scholars connected with ACTS Indigenous Student Services will receive an announcement when the application for the upcoming year is open.

For the 2024-25 academic year, NDGNS UW will be transitioning into a full four-year program for incoming students. The NDGNS Community and NDGNS UW fellowship will remain key components of the NDGNS UW program, with additional opportunities for scholars to engage in during their undergraduate experience at UW-Madison. Watch for details to be announced over Summer 2024 through ACTS Indigenous Student Services on Canvas.
