Miranda Salazar

Miranda is a senior majoring in Social Welfare with a certificate in Integrated Liberal Studies (ILS). Miranda works closely with the Indigenous Student Services Coordinator and the NDGNS UW program within ACTS. Miranda was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, and is a first-generation college student and a proud member of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community (SRPMIC), also identifying with her LatinX heritage. Miranda was part of the first NDGNS UW cohort and a CeO scholar. She is very excited to work with ACTS and NDGNS to help implement more resources for Native/Indigenous scholars to continue to build a community on campus. Miranda also studied music performance and has learned music theory extensively, gaining lots of exposure to other performing arts as well (like musical theater and dance), studying the piano, flute, and choir. More recently she has grown very passionate about playing badminton. Miranda is the fundraising/events chair on the UW-Badminton Club executive board.
